Finance & Business Support Officer

Location: Scrabster Harbour Office, Caithness

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (flexible start/finish options)

Salary: £26,000–£30,000 depending on experience

Closing Date: 27/7/25

Scrabster Harbour Trust is seeking a versatile and proactive Finance & Business Support Officer to join our dedicated team. This new role blends financial administration with wider involvement across harbour operations, offering the right person variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a real contribution to a growing organisation.

 

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for routine financial tasks using Sage 50 (including invoicing, reconciliation, and credit control), while also supporting wider business operations. The role would suit someone keen to be involved in harbour activities, seeking opportunities to promote Scrabster externally and engage with harbour users and visitors.  The ideal candidate would know how to leverage digital products and tools to enhance working practices and generate engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales and purchase invoices, reconcile accounts, support month-end
  • Manage debtors and liaise with customers on account queries
  • Help maintain property data, tenant contact records, and renewals
  • Assist with updates to media platforms, website and marketing materials
  • Maintain and improve internal office systems and databases

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proficient in Sage 50 with experience in finance admin – Essential
  • Detail-focused, reliable, and confident managing workload independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced with the MS Office suite of applications.
  • Comfortable working flexibly across finance & general administration
  • Experience in digital engagement, marketing and communications – Desired
