Fundraising Officer – Timespan, Helmsdale or Remote 

Part Time, two days a week, 9.30 am – 5.30 pm; there will be a requirement for occasional flexible hours

Contract: 10 month fixed-term contract (from 1th August 2022 to 31st May 2023).

Salary: £27,000 fte per annum

The Role and Our Ambitions

Timespan seeks an experienced Fundraising Officer to help drive the charity’s fundraising strategy and securing funding from a range of sources. The Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Director to support Timespan’s income generation goals.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to secure funding from a range of sources.
  • Research potential funding sources, including trusts, foundations, and individual donors, to support Timespan’s activities and projects.
  • Write compelling funding applications that align with the organisation’s  fundraising priorities / principles.
  • Maintain accurate records of funding applications and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with donors and funding bodies, ensuring they are kept informed of the charity’s work and achievements.
  • Develop and implement a programme of fundraising events and initiatives to engage and inspire donors and supporters.

Income Generation

  • Work with the Director and other colleagues to develop income generation strategies that support Timespan’s financial sustainability.
  • Work with colleagues to identify opportunities for corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and other income-generating initiatives.

Communications

  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop communications and messaging that effectively promote Timespan’s fundraising and income generation activities.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials, including fundraising literature, annual reports, and other collateral.

Person Specification (Knowledge, Skills, Experience)

Essential

  • Proven experience in fundraising and income generation, ideally in a charity, non-profit or cultural organisation environment.
  • Track record of securing funding from a range of sources, including trusts, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience of producing compelling funding applications.
  • Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships with donors and funding bodies.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Team player, with a collaborative and supportive approach to work.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Timespan.

Desirable:

  • Experience or working within the museum sector.
  • Knowledge of SEO
  • Adobe Creative Suite
