COMMUNITY DIRECTORATE – CAITHNESS

PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR (BAND 7)

BASED IN CAITHNESS

Fixed Term Contract until March 2026

 (Salary: £40,872 – £47,846)

The newly created post is a unique opportunity for a self motivated individual to play a key role in a major redesign of adult health and social care services in Caithness.

This complex programme of work seeks to radically change the way that we deliver services in the area to allow NHS Highland to respond to changing demographic and sustainability challenges.  The new local care model has a focus on prevention and community resilience, with health and social care teams working collaboratively to provide wrap-around care with the patient at the centre.  The redesign also includes three major building projects; new Community Hubs in Wick and Thurso, and a reconfiguration of Caithness General Hospital in Wick.  The post holder will be a core member of the Project Team, and will support the Project Director to co-ordinate the service redesign elements of the programme.

You will be an experienced programme manager, educated to degree level, with a track record of delivering complex change programmes with many interdependencies.  You will hold a formal qualification in project/ programme management such as PRINCE2 or Managing Successful Projects.  The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and programme management skills and the ability to build strong working relationships and communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across health, social care, third sector, independent providers and the community.

Hybrid working (combination of office based and working from home) is an option, provided that the post holder works from the Caithness office a minimum of 2 full days a week.

This is a fixed term post until March 2026, working  full-time, 37.5 hours per week in accordance with service requirements, however flexible/part-time hours may also be considered.
